Reindeer Oreo Cookie Balls

Reindeer Oreo cookie balls are no-bake Oreo and cream cheese treats dipped in chocolate and decorated with candy eyes, red noses, and pretzel antlers. Chilling firms the centers before coating and helps the chocolate set into a smooth finish.

Ingredients

For the cookie balls
  • 36 Oreo cookies regular
  • 8 oz cream cheese block, softened
For the coating and decorations
  • 16 oz chocolate melting wafers
  • 36 mini pretzel twists
  • 72 candy eyes
  • 36 red candy-coated chocolates

Equipment

  • 1 food processor
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 microwave-safe bowl

Method

Make the cookie balls
  1. Finely crush the Oreo cookies in a food processor, or place them in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin.
  2. Add the softened cream cheese and mix until evenly combined.
  3. Scoop and roll the mixture into 36 balls about 1 inch wide.
  4. Arrange the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 30 minutes, until firm.
Coat and decorate
  1. Break each mini pretzel twist in half to make 72 antlers.
  2. Melt the chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.
  3. Dip each chilled ball into the melted chocolate, let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl, and return it to the lined baking sheet.
  4. While the coating is still wet, press two candy eyes and one red candy-coated chocolate onto each ball, then add two pretzel halves at the top for antlers.
  5. Refrigerate for about 20 minutes, until the coating is set.

Notes

For neat decorations, add the candy eyes, red candy-coated chocolate, and pretzel antlers while the coating is still wet. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days; freezer-friendly for up to 2 months. For a dairy-free variation, use dairy-free cream cheese and dairy-free chocolate melting wafers.
