Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb salmon fillet skin-on
  • 0.5 tsp salt kosher
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter unsalted, melted
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp lime juice fresh
  • 1 tsp lime zest finely grated
  • 1 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp cilantro fresh, chopped

Equipment

  • 1 rimmed baking sheet

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and place the salmon skin-side down on the sheet.
  3. Season the salmon evenly with the salt and pepper.
  4. Stir together the melted butter, honey, lime juice, lime zest, and garlic.
  5. Spoon the mixture over the salmon.
  6. Bake for 12 to 16 minutes, until the thickest part reaches 145°F and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Sprinkle with the cilantro.
  8. Let the salmon rest for 3 minutes before serving.

Notes

For tender salmon, check the thickest part for 145°F and that it flakes easily. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days; freezing is suitable. For a dairy-free option, replace the butter with olive oil.
